Advanced Metering Infrastructure - "Smart" Metering Meets the Smart Grid
Advanced Meter Infrastructure or AMI is the next-generation of Automated Meter Reading or AMR. AMI, in addition to providing the benefit of meter reading, can bring significant benefits to utilities such as dynamic pricing programs. Ultimately, AMI makes data more readily accessible for operating, maintenance and planning decisions over the long term.
